For over a decade, I have been a reader and friend to Rhythmweb.com. Before the first website was launched by OM, there was Rhythmweb. Eric Stuer put countless hours into this great resource for people to see the wide range of percussion and artists. Eric's generous nature was shown in more than just his website. Eric and Debbie are survived by their 3 children and we are working to make sure they are able to move forward and that both Rhythmweb and their business on the web are sustained until fully able to move on. Thank you Eric for your inspiration and friendship. You are already deeply missed by so many.

The Subash Chandran DVD is in printing and will be available for sale here at
OMRadio in August 2007. The original release was slated for January 2007, but
was delayed by various needs at OM that served to catch up with the latest tech.
The new DVD features lessons for the South Indian clay
pot called Ghatam and the art of vocal percussion called
Konnakol. The text is on the screen and in PDF form.

Howard Levy Vol 2 in final Production
RELEASE DATE: SEPTEMBER 2008
With the release of Vol 1, we are eager to get some of
the intricate lessons on how to play the harmonica in
his amazing style. Volume 2 will cover breathing techniques,
and in the same fashion as volume one, Howard demonstrates
across a C Harp how to play major scales, blues
licks, bebop licks, and arpeggios in each key. Howard
demonstrates reed adjustment and tuning. Stay tuned here

Percussionist Tigger Benford has recorded a DVD on drumming
for dancers. He discusses instrument choices for textures
and ways to support from rehearsal to recital. Release

New CD from Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri
The 2006 Darbar Festival featured some amazing talents in
the Indian music scene. For three days in early March 2006,
over 50 musicians paid tribute to Bhai Gurmit Singh Virdee
who passed away the year before. The festival featured
many performances including Pt. Swapan
Chaudhuri, Pt. Anindo Chatteree, Pt.
Kumar Bose, Bahauddin Dagar, and many others.
From this performance, Sense World has released several
recordings including a new double CD from Pandit Swapan
Chaudhuri.

MySpace and YouTube and OM
Many know about the advantages of the new media portals
online. We were very glad to jump right in. In the old
paradigm we checked webstats, emails, and forums to get
an idea of who we were talking to. It seems that we didn't
have to wait long for people to simply share very openly
what kind of music they enjoy or find musicians in your
field to network with.
With YouTube, we've seen really good idea of how many
people can be reached in this medium with some of our clips
over 4000 times. We used to talk about using media in a
personal way and now there is manifestation of that vision.
Our two pages at YouTube and MySpace have further tied
our community together and given us the chance to check
in with people we really respect, are curious about, and
with whom we want to share a new better world.
